There are a number of environmental issues "up" in Skagit right now-- the coal trains, a water bottling facility planned in Anacortes, and more oil to come by rail to the "Tesoro refinery". in Anacortes |

In the years since I first met her, Doris Brevoort has been the picture of integrity. At one point, she was my landlord, and was always willing to assist in anything she could. She represents something we should all wish to attain: the willingness to look at all sides of an argument, regardless of personal opinion, and help to derive the best of the situation. I have no doubt that as city councilwoman she would use these qualities to greatest advantage for all. Sincerely, David G. Lauderbaugh, owner, operator, dklRecording

I have gotten to know Doris and know that she will CHANGE THE TONE OF THE MOUNT VERNON CITY COUNCIL. Her conversations with me and comments at candidate presentations show her respect, human rights values and humility. She has a vision for Mount Vernon and Skagit County: WORKING TOGETHER AS EQUALS WILL FORM A UNITY OF WISDOM THAT FACILITATES A TRUE DEMOCRACY |

As a friend and colleague of Doris I can vouch for her sincerity, industrious spirit, and wonderful attitude for bringing positive changes into the lives of others. She is a tireless worker who gets the job done, and all this without losing her sense of humor. She has a great sense of balance about life, using her intelligence and reason as well as her inner visions to create workable plans for both her community and her city. This woman has it all! I heartily endorse Doris Brevoort for City Council.

I work nationally in the field of historic preservation and have visited Mount Vernon several times. It is an attractive town which maintains a strong sense of history and architectural heritage, and has a very cohesive downtown core. Doris Brevoort understands that history and community identity are critical components of a strong and revitalized downtown, which in turn creates jobs and promotes retail spending and reinvestment. Doris is also active in the local Main Street program, which is a very successful tool for bolstering commerce and community pride. GO DORIS. |
